If you’re studying for the CPA Exam, you need to keep track of the latest announcements. The AICPA uses this page to post announcements related to test content, test administration, and other topics relevant to CPA Exam candidates.
On February 26, 2024, the National Institute of Standards and Technology issued The NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0. This framework replaces the Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Version 1.1, portions of which are eligible for testing in the Information Systems and Controls (ISC) section of the CPA Exam. The Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Version 1.1 will remain eligible for testing in the ISC section of the CPA Exam through the fourth quarter testing window that ends on October 31, 2024. The NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0 will become eligible for testing in the ISC section of the CPA Exam in the first quarter of 2025 and will replace the Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Version 1.1. Revised CPA Exam Blueprints will be published in the fourth quarter of 2024 to reflect this change.
The new Sample Test for the 2024 CPA exam has been released. This Sample Test allows all candidates to get familiar with the exam software, including the spreadsheet tool.
NASBA confirms upcoming application dates
NASBA has confirmed application deadlines for the current BEC section. Please refer to the charts NASBA provided in its Aug. 2 news release for information by each U.S. jurisdiction. The charts also include the first dates applications will be accepted for new CPA Exam disciplines (BAR, ISC and TCP).
The new model for CPA licensure along with an evolution-aligned CPA Exam is set to launch in January 2024. The updated CPA Exam Blueprints are now available.

CPA Exam’s Future: Key Tentative Dates Announced

The AICPA is soliciting feedback on the Exposure Draft of the new design of the Uniform CPA Examination® (CPA Exam). Developed through research and input from the profession, the Exposure Draft informs the content and scope of the CPA Evolution-aligned Exam expected to launch in January 2024. Stakeholders are asked to provide feedback through September 30, 2022.
